BROOKLYN BUFFALO TROOPERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB is a derivative of a larger organization
named in honor of the legendary BUFFALO SOLDIER. Brooklyn Buffalo Troopers is a venerated motorcycle club that reveres its historical origins and embodies the character, strength and beauty of its forefathers. It is with this character, strength and celebrated beauty that we take this opportunity to recognize our female riders and honor the only known female Buffalo Soldier, our foremother CATHAY WILLIAMS.
Born into slavery in 1842 Cathay Williams spent the majority of her formative years in servitude. Notably, by the time she reached adolescence Cathay was a house slave. A yearning for equality and independence, the endurance of the hardships of slavery and sheer determination contributed to Cathay’s subsequent service as a Buffalo Soldier. Against all odds, she trudged on and it is in her honor that we dedicate this page to our female riders. Thank you for your never-ending gift of giving.
